Rapparees opened their WEXFORD PEOPLE U17 HURLING R1 NTH campaign taking on Cloney Gaels a combined Shamrocks/Davidstowncourtnacuddy side on home turf this morning at 11am and come away with the spoils after a tough, competitive encounter which saw Rapparees hurling with 14 men following a sending off midway through the opening period.

All over in St Patrick's Park and Stars are Jim Byrne Cup champions for 2018 after overcoming Ballinastragh Gaels on a score line of 2-9 to 0-3

The minor (U17) footballers won through the to semi finals of the Jim Byrne Cup yesterday with a good performance in difficult conditions.

The final score was Starlights 5-11 St Marys Maudlinstown 2-6.

Great start to this years Jim Byrne Cup this afternoon, with the lads posting 5-18 against Hollow Rovers in the first round game
